Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation
Financing agriculture and ensuring farmers are key to reducing hunger and improving the mutual prosperity of the society. Through the introduction of the Krushak Livelihood and Income Augmentation Assistance-KALIA Scheme, the Government aims to lend farmers with an all-inclusive and scalable support system to ensure accelerated agricultural prosperity. At the heart of a progressive scheme such as KALIA lies the inspiration to empower state farmers with financial options that will allow Odisha’s agriculture to grow and develop. Enhancing the accessibility of appropriate financial services would further ensure agricultural productivity and increase income for farmers, especially small and marginal landholders.
Amounting to more than 10,000 crores, the scheme has been designed to alleviate debt-ridden farmers from the debt trap, while retaining a holistic vision of addressing poverty directly by providing financial assistance to poor agricultural households, landless workers and marginal state farmers. The KALIA scheme, introduced by the Government of Odisha, brings under its umbrella 92% of state farmers and nearly all poor landless farmers who can benefit from the benefits of this scheme through the Direct Benefit Transfer Process.
Top 5 Benefits, Under Kalia Yojana, the government will provide the benefits to the beneficiaries such as:-
Assistance for Cultivation
Rs. 10,000/- Per Family Per Year
Financial assistance of Rs.25.000/-per farm family over five seasons will be given to small and marginal farmers so that farmers can purchase inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and use help for labor and other investments. This scheme will be introduced from the current Rabi Season 2018-19.
Assistance for Livelihood
Rs. 12,500/- each landless agriculture household
Financial assistance of Rs. 12,500/-will be provided to each landless household for agricultural activities related to the small goat rearing unit, mini-layer unit, duckery unit, fisherman ‘s fishing kits, mushroom cultivation and apiculture, etc. This will help, in particular, the SC & ST population of our society.
Assistance for Vulnerable Agriculture Household
Rs. 10,000/- Per Family Per Year
Vulnerable cultivators / landless agricultural workers will receive financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/-per family per year to allow them to take care of their livelihoods. Helpless farmer / landless agricultural laborers who are elderly, have disabilities / disease and are helpless for some other cause.
Life Insurance for Cultivators Landless Agricultural Laborers
Life insurance coverage of Rs. 2.00 lakh at a very nominal premium of Rs. 330/-will be given to all savings bank account holders between 18 and 50 years of age. The Government of Odisha shall bear the farmers’ share of the annual premium of Rs.165/-. Personal accident shall cover Rs.2.00 lakh at a very nominal annual premium of Rs.12/-for all holders of savings bank accounts between 18 and 50 years of age. Out of Rs.12/-in respect of the premium, Rs.6/-is the farmer’s share to be borne by the Government. Of Odisha, guy. Interest Free Crop Loan
Rs. 50,000 Loan @ 0% Interest
Vulnerable landless workers, cultivators, sharecroppers, and agricultural families listed by Gram Panchayats will be granted cop loans of up to Rs 50,000 at 0 % interest. A direct attack on poverty, this all-inclusive, successful scheme is deeply committed to the responsible lending of appropriate borrowers to ensure agricultural production and growth.

Eligibility Criteria – Beneficiary Guidelines – KALIA Yojana
- The applicants must be a permanent resident in the Odisha State.
- The applicant must belong to the BPL category.
- The applicant must belong to the small and marginal category.
- The applicant must have a bank account
- Is the farmer is working for the state government and central government or associated with any PSU department then they are not eligible for this scheme. This scheme is only for marginal and small category farmers.
- If any farmer falls in the tax payment structure will not be allowed to apply for the KALIA Yojana.
